the river by starlight by ellen notbohm

historical FICTION, 361 PP

With well-developed with engaging characters, The River by Starlight punches you with every emotion like a boxer going ten rounds. It left me bruised yet wanting more. Put me back in the ring for another round. Is there sadness and despair in the life of Analiese Fielding? Yes. But, it’s that emotional tug which draws you in to root for Annie to find her happy ending. Set in early 1900s Montana, The River by Starlight, is a moving story of a mother’s journey to re-define her life as she struggles through loss, pain, and betrayal. Her story resonates with mothers everywhere, re-confirming that history repeats itself. And from the past we can learn and improve on our future. While we have achieved much in the advancements of caring for a mother’s challenges, many more miles still lie ahead. Another title I’ll be adding to ideas for Mother’s Day gifts.

That’s the thing about books. They let you travel without moving your feet.
